Hello everyone! Do you remember those times you could read books and enjoy them after they have ended? I love that nostalgic tone that books have after they have ended! As Bill Watterson has proven., it’s always best to end a series at its peak. But there are stories that haven’t been let go and are still good as ever!

….and then there are the ones that just aren’t.

Yes, there are some books that should have ended, but are still going on to this day, which is a bit annoying. This is only in my opinion, so if you still like these book series, then I don’t blame you. If there are other more book series that should have ended earlier than before, then list them down in the comments!

1. Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Yes, this seriesby the beloved Jeff Kinney is very famous for its humor, relatability, and its acknowledgment on the woes of middle school.

It has tickled the funny bone of all ages, and has even got itself four live action movies, three animated movies, a spin-off series, a musical, three original board games, and three supplementary books! And the series is still going!

But personally, I think Greg Heffley’s antics are running dry. After I finished reading the 15th book, the series seemed like a good place to end. But then Big Shot came, which actually was a better ending. But then Diper Överlöde just came and kinda made me tired of the series.

Jeff Kinney might be over with the Wimpy Kid series, but I would like to see more of Rowley Jefferson’s adventures.

2. The Bad Guys

Ah, yes. A book series about a ton of bad guys that want to become good guys (well not all of them, mostly their leader). I loved the series so much in the first ten books so much, and luckily achieve that goal in that time!

But then the second arc comes, and throws the series at a curveball.

The titular group has already accomplished their main goal in the entire series! We don’t need twenty more books to continue with that! Not to mention the books are less funnier than they were in the earlier books.

3. Dog Man

This one I’m disappointed about. I LOVED the first few books of Dog Man! It was a funny, creative take from the beloved mind of Dav Pilkey, and no matter how tough the bad guy was, our half-canine protagonist was always able to save the day and the book would end with “HOORAY FOR DOG MAN!” And would be one of the most thrilling, hilarious, heartfelt series out there!

But then Little Petey came into the picture, but everything was still okay with the seri- WAIT, WHY DO THEY NOW THANK THE “SUPA BUDDIES” FOR SAVING THE DAY?

Isn’t the series called “Dog Man”? Because it isn’t called “The Supa Buddies”, so now I don’t know WHAT it is called now.

Also is it just me, or are Little Petey and Mollie just brats? I know that they were made as major characters and meant to be loved, but to me they are just in “the Scrappy” category to me.

Not to mention taking Petey away as the main villain, making him a good guy and replacing him with the F.L.E.A.S. is like taking away Mojo Jojo from the Powerpuff Girls and replacing him with three other evil monkeys. I really hope it can find a good place to end.

4. Wings of Fire

This last one shows that a book doesn’t have to be a graphic novel to age into something critics don’t appreciate a lot. The series started out with five dragons trying to fulfill a prophecy, and the second arc revolving around a group of other dragons to save the world.

The next arc then revolves around ANOTHER group of dragons trying to- okay, the plot is getting a bit repetitive. It really should have ended after the first or second arcs, since the creative issues are kinda running low for this series. I just hope no fourth arc is going to come…

And that’s all! Also my power’s back on again, in case anyone was wondering!

See you next week!
