All the bright places is a coming of age novel written by Jennifer Niven about two seniors, with two different personalities and backgrounds, but the similar struggles of their lives. There is a movie based on this book but I haven’t watched it.

Violet Markey, a typical popular teen, can’t wait to get out of her small Indiana town.Especially after her sisters accidental death, Violet feels remorse and carries the guilt of her sisters passing. Whereas Theodore Finch AKA Finch, is known to be the freak of the school. He has a strange strong fascination with death and suicidal ideation. One day when Violet and Finch want to end their lives, they decide to jump off the highest point of their school building. However, they end up meeting each other instead. Some time later, they decide to be partners for a school project where they have to look at some of the wonders in Indiana. While doing this project, they realize that labels that people put for others don’t really define them. They help one another through their ups and downs and learn more about letting go in life. However, when Violet’s life slowly gets better, Finch’s life gets thrown upside down. What will happen next? How will Violet and Finch help each other? If you like stories about grief, loss, friendship and mental health, this book is just for you.
If you liked reading the Bridge to Terabithia, I can guarantee that you will enjoy this book.
