Hello everyone!

It’s Solus, who has broken free from the cage of middle school and is running into another, bigger cage called high school :,D

But I’ve got a few months before that so in the meantime–

IMAGINE

You love a character with all your heart and soul. And you want to show your LOVE for this character.

But you have no idea where to start. And you can’t draw for the life of you.

So–how do you show the world you LOVE this character if you can’t draw? After all, drawing art of characters is the usual expression of character love.

It’s not the only one, however!

Here are some different ways you can show your love for characters.

  1. Draw them anyways!

It’s better than AI slop, and who cares if it looks like trash? You did your best, and it’s beautiful in it’s own way.

And keep practicing! You will grow better with time and practice 🙂

Write a story with them!

Writing is a bit easier to fix than drawing, and anyone can write at least a little bit.

Write them happy! Or thinking! Or getting the crap beat out of them!

Anything is good! People love to read fanfic 😀

It can also just be a “100 reasons why Pit is best illiterate” list. Go wild hun.

2. Make a CapCut edit of them!

These are especially fun!

CapCut is a software that allows users to edit pictures and video clips to make videos where clips replace each other and are genuinely really cool 😀

If you can’t edit, not to worry! There are templates you can use at will on Capcut (all you have to do is input your pictures and clips and yeah :])

However–if you want to share these edits, it’s recommended you use official or in-game art for your edits–or your own art!

Many artists hate their art being used in edits, mainly because sadly people don’t credit the original artists. Hence, art with “DO NOT REPOST/EDIT/USE FOR AI”. Do not use this art for edits.

These are still fun 😀

3. Make compilations!

Find a bunch of video clips of your favorite being silly, or a bunch of video clips that you think represent the character’s vibe.

Then, use a program like Clipchamp or Canva to shove it all together, labeling it whatever you want like, “Compilation of Bohbee”. You can name it something stupid too, like “Louis being babygirl for [X amount of time]” or “Videos that give Palu”.

4. Make a playlist!

Ever heard a song you think, “haha that’s [X character]” or “[X character] would sing this. This is them”?

Take all of those songs, an app like YouTube or Spotify and shove those songs in there!

Find a cute photo of them (preferably from in-game or something you drew yourself, if not official art), and name the playlist anything–as long as it has the character’s name! Personally, I go with the character’s name, then a few aesthetic emojis 🙂

And, last but not least:

5. Talk about them!

Go into an app like GarageBand, hit record, and pretend you’re talking to someone about why your favorite is the best EVER. And you have to convince them to think the same.

See how long you can go! Nerd out here, quote them, do horrible impressions of them…as I said before, go wild, hun.

And there you go! Five ways to express your undying love for your favorite characters.

If you’re afraid of looking back and going “eww cringe phase eww eww” LIVE IN THE PRESENT! Draw as much art as you want of them, be as cringe as you want!

An example, I used to be wild about Neonight and his friends in the FNF community! I made art, fanfics, animations…the whole shebang.

Now, I barely interact with FNF, aside from covers. But my art has improved so much from incessant drawing, as with my writing and animations.

Same goes with Pokémon! Be it the infamous PokéBlog saga. Which I genuinely die every time I read.

But my small child self had a wild amount of fun writing it and making it, and I learned so many Inkscape techniques. I’ve used Inkscape to edit my favorite Fire Emblem characters (including an MMD edit of Louis), and that’s great.

The writing and art skills I’ve developed have helped with school, and my current hyperfixation on Fire Emblem: Engage.

Maybe I’ll look back and wonder how cringe I was playing Fire Emblem. Whatever!

I’m enjoying it now! And I want to be happy now. So I’ll do it.

That’s all! Hope this helped, and see you next week!
