Have you see a dolphin show and thought “Aww… What adorable animals! They wouldn’t hurt a fly!” Well you’d be wrong about the “they wouldn’t hurt a fly” part. In fact, a lot of things were actually very dangerous that people thought were either cool or cute in the past. Here are some of the things (including dolphins)

Dolphins

These animals may be social and cute, but they actually are really dangerous. Their bites are more deadlier than shark bites, since dolphins often travel in pods (correction: they always do). Adding on, they are very curious creatures and will not leave a discovered human alone.

Mercury

This enigmatic element was at first thought to be a very wonderful and docile substance. Named after the light-footed Roman messenger god, this element is the only metal which is liquid at room temperature. It was fun to play with for many people. But the element actually is poisonous and symptoms would mean severe brain and lung cancer, so people started not to use mercury anymore.

Radium

Radium was at first thought to be a wonderful thing (or should I say element) that was at first thought to be harmless. It was used for many things, and people worked in factories and touched the element a lot, which lead to the girl rebel group of “The Radium Girls” forming (there also is a movie on the group as well). And now, radium is now one of the dangerous elements on the planet.

And that’s it! See you all next week!
