Here’s how it started: I was just returning a book (specifically The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan) to the library, and I went to the teen and adult graphic novels and manga section, as usual. I then looked for some books to read while I was there. After skimming through a lot of book options, I finally found a book titled Dancing at the Pity Party by Tyler Feder. I thought the book looked interesting, so I picked it up and started reading. The book was so hard to put down that I had to check out the book to properly finish it.

The book was interesting, sad, and sometimes funny at the same time. I really recommend the book for people that have experienced grief or love true stories about cancer.

The book is about the author, Tyler Feder, experiencing the death of her mother, who she felt like was weird and the most like her. Feder shows how much the event changed her as a person, and how other people feel grief as well. It also includes pictures about the good times she and her mom had and tips for if you have a friend of yours that is dealing with grief. I love the book so much that it makes me think about not only my own mom but about all my family members.

Happy Reading!
