Hello everyone! If any of you have seen one of my earlier blogs, I get the jitters (or in simple terms: I get out of the theater and pace back and forth/ I stand on top of the couch or something and bounce across said couch multiple times) when I watch movies, which stands as one of the reasons why I don’t like watching movies that much (that and the fact that so many movies have topics that I don’t really like that much).

But however, there is one movie that I really wanted to watch, and eventually watched, and it was the BEST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!! Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is a movie based on the beloved RPG game made in Wisconsin made by Disney’s rival Paramount. This movie is considered the first good D&D movie (the original trilogy before had many negative reviews and was said to be worse than the game it was based on). As I am writing this, Honor Among Thieves is the ninth highest grossing movie this year (2023)! I loved the movie because of its humor, adventurous, and sad moments all blended into one movie altogether! Here’s a quick description of the movie…

In the land of the Forgotten Realms, charming bard Edgin and kick-butt barbarian Holga are two thieves who steal to survive in the world with Edgin’s daughter Kira. Edgin and Holga are captured into custody in Revel’s End after succeeding an operation to steal an enchanted horn with the help of devious rogue Forge, the underdog half-elf sorcerer Simon and the mysterious wizard Sofina.

After escaping from the frosty prison with the unintentional help of winged chancellor Jarnathan, the two thieves find that their former friend Forge had duped them and became the king of Neverwinter, with Sofina as his second-in-command and Kira in his hostage.

The betrayal has the two thieves almost executed, but the bard and barbarian escape a second time. To get revenge on their false friend, the anti-heroes decide to go on a quest to dethrone him with the assistance of Simon (once again) and the shapeshifting tiefling Doric, along with a little help from the stern but good-hearted paladin Xenk. Meanwhile, Sofina has some diabolical schemes of her own….

Happy binge watching!
