Hi everyone! Est me Solus iterum 🙂

Remember in this blog when I talked about going to Camp Chinook?

Well, this week I went to another Girl Scout camp–Camp Silverbrook!

Camp Silverbrook is the camp where I went to for most of my childhood, and I have a ton of pleasant (and less pleasant) memories from said camp.
I haven’t gone there in years, so it was great to see my friends again 🙂

(And by friends I mean two. I have two good friends at camp.)
(Or…I had. I’ll get to that. :])

So I arrive at this camp with my friends Nebula and Pineapple (and my sister, under the name of Cherry), expecting exhaustion and burnout and depresso. (Definitely not because I had to pack my own lunch, therefore not being able to eat Chicken in the Woods–a Girl Scout camp staple, served on the Silverbrook overnights which I would not do because well…am not a morning person.)

But it was great!

People are a bit nicer at this camp, or at least more accepting. Or that might be just because I know them better.

(Childhood friends yippie)

Anyway. Made more new friends!

Shoutout to Zedra, Kippen, Salem, Bluey, Shortcake, Dragonfly, Totoro, and Gnome (and Nebula and Pineapple of course <33)
(…and Cherry I guess)

Camp highlights!

  • Working in the kitchen and using the big knife to cut watermelon. And scaring Shortcake and my sister. I like big knives.
  • Giving children thumbs-ups and one rolling her eyes and turning away…WHAT DID I DOOOO
  • Making thank-you cards for people I can’t actively talk to and Kippen loving her card a ton. Meant so so much to me because she’s always been my favorite.
  • Making a fat borb named BOb. (not a typo. That is the correct spelling.) And giving him a top hat.
  • Being unable to stand after being in the kitchen all day. Lovely.
  • Eating nachos that campers made because they wouldn’t touch them. (They were soggy but pretty good.) (Also eating extra mac and cheese.)
  • Signing t-shirts and trading beads!
  • Watching children invent a squirt gun and spray their PA with it.
  • Me being nominated to get a duck for some reason. Apparently kids were asked to pick a PA they liked or something and one picked me?? My duck has drip as seen in the image. It’s lovely.
  • Some child making a creepy porta-potty for their birdhouse they were supposed to build. It was glorious. They even made a toilet.

I love Chinook, of course, but Silverbrook has my heart and soul <33

I can’t wait to come back next year. This camp was as good as I remembered.

Anyways, bye everyone! I hope you all have fun at summer camps like this 🙂

Have a great summer,

– Solus
