Hey everyone. It’s Solus, qui erat mortuus multis diebus.

But there’s a REASON I WAS DEAD FOR MANY DAYS.

Which is that I was busy.

More recently, however, that I had to go back to school.

And now I’m in high school!

So I’m here to tell you:

Nobody sings.

It’s not like High School Musical.

There is no Candace Flynn.

No musical numbers.

Unless you’re in Choir. Which doesn’t count.

So.

What is high school like?

Well.

At my school, our schedules are very mixed up.

Because our school doesn’t want us to miss the same classes when we have to leave for sport competitions.

Which tend to happen in the middle of the day for some reason.

So the end-of-day classes are switched to start of the day sometimes, and vice versa. The only classes that remain the same are the ones sandwiching lunch.

We have 8 class periods in a day, with a break after the first two. Also lunch. But some students don’t have lunch.

(One of my friends, when asked what his lunch period was, gave the person asking a deadpan look and said, “Band.”)

So that’s lovely.

We get even MORE homework somehow.

So lovely.

BUT.

I have a study hall, so I can strategically not do homework.

(Do not recommend.)

But if I have to. It’s there!

Yay.

So. Tips for high school.

  1. Fail middle school so you don’t have to go (JOKE)

DO NOT DO THAT HIGH SCHOOL IS A BIT BETTER THAN MIDDLE SCHOOL IN TERMS OF RULES

  1. Manage your homework.
    • Take breaks when needed. Timed breaks so you don’t go too far down a rabbit hole.
  2. Talk to your teachers.
    • To avoid misunderstandings and overreactions.
  3. Study.
    • No words needed. Also, Blocks Quizlet is a valid method of studying.
  4. Have a few friends.
    • For homework help and survival.
  5. Don’t stress. But stress.
    • There’s an optimal amount of stress. Which is caring. BUT. Don’t have no stress or too much stress. Happy medium.

And those are my five tips for high school!

Don’t die and have fun 🙂
