And I came across a graphic novel series: Fantastic Tales of Nothing!
Now, where to begin? Ah, yes…
Fantastic Tales of Nothing is a series about a boy named Nathan who wants to become a bard. The book starts with him seemingly dead (but the book goes on so uh DUH he’s not dead). He’s saved by a strange creature named Haven. Haven accompanies Nathan on his journey, and they appear to be a being that is neither human nor volken…
Along the way, Nathan and Haven meet two Volken mercenaries(Volken are animals that can shift between their form and a human form)- Bardou and Sina.

Anyway, there’s a ton more lore to the series, but I’m going to move on to why you should read this series:

So uh yeah, also THERE’S A SEQUEL AND IT’S NOT STUPID OR BAD, ALSO THERE’S ONLY ONE SEQUEL! THAT PREVENTS IT FROM BEING BAD OR REPETITIVE! (>hack hack< Bad Guys and Dog Man >hack hack<)
