Finished Violence Couplet
Since a young age, I have had a passion for writing. As a kid I would write about the small things that happened every day until the COVID 19 pandemic happened . In the beginning of the pandemic I started blogging. In my blogs I started writing book reviews,life experiences and important social issues. My blog about books aimed to support literacy awareness by sharing the passion for reading. I wrote the following poem to remind everyone how peace can be achieved by using a pen and paper rather than a knife and a fight. I began writing during the darkest times in history and now I write about how just a pen of a creative person can bring a positive change by erasing negativity from the world .
Am I too scared to look under the bed?
I think there’s a monster, but it’s in my head
I wish to scream, stomp cry and shout
But all I do is try not to pout
Things are rough all over they say
But what if things get rougher every day?
My pen cuts deeper than a knife or a sword
I click the keys so my voice can be heard
But people click the keys to laugh, joke and converse,
The storm in my head needs to get out much more,
They say A knife can start a fight, and shatter a life
But the words from a pen can heal and change a life.
Using your pen and scribing words on a blank space
Will show the world its beauty and that it’s a better place.
