Hey everyone! Taking a break from talking about video games, I want to talk about my Robotics competition that I went to!

For those who don’t know, I’m a member of my school’s robotics team, called BEAST Robotics (team number: 2202), as a part of the STEM program FRC. Just last week (i.e March 7-8), I had a competition in Lakeland against so many teams from so many schools from all over the district! I can give you a good overview of how it was!

On the first day, our robots clashed with so many others! But… we had some serious competition.

1306 and 1732. Those are the numbers of the ace teams of the entire competition: Badger Robotics and Hilltoppers Robotics.

Those guys were HYDROGEN BOMBS among all the coughing babies that were the other teams and more. Whenever one team was against them, those two would always score up to EIGHT TIMES that the other team did! It was crazy! But our team was able to do pretty well for all the delays that we had experienced!

Since the competition was for two days, our team decided to stay at a hotel for the next day. When I was sleeping in the hotel room, one of my roommates was playing some kind of soothing music, which I take is something she uses to help her sleep.

Conversely, however, it was the main catalyst why I had a bit of insomnia that night. I don’t even remember if I even SLEPT that night. Even if I did, I probably did so an hour before we had to get up for breakfast. It was the worst feeling EVER.

Anyhow, on the next day of competition, our team was able to make it past Qualifications and actually start playing in the playoffs! Which is when my team started becoming obnoxious. They only were cheering on our team and not even the teams that were aligned with our team (we were with team 4786 {Nicolet Fear} and team 1091 [Oriole Assault})! It was so bad!!!

Also, even though our team won the Quality Award (basically to show that our team was really good at acting professional with exceptional etiquette), many members of our team started acting really rowdy between matches, talking while presenters were talking, and one kid was even making really loud noises during the rest of the event!

If anyone from the other teams are reading this, then I’m REALLY sorry that you got that behavior from my team. I can’t promise you that those people will start acting more mature, but I CAN reassure you that there are many other team members that actually are genuinely good people! But we still greatly apologize.

If anyone from team 2202 is reading this, PLEASE act more respectful to other teams! It really goes a long way! And if you were, good! Keep doing that!

And apparently, those people were rowdy enough to annoy the other teams, but weren’t enough to participate in any of the dances or team cheers. Kids these days (and yes I do know this includes me)…

We didn’t win, but nevertheless, I still had a lot of fun since I got to bond with my teammates and meet friendly, new people!

See y’all later!
