So, I’ll start off with Tihar. What is Tihar? It’s Diwali, or as some people call it, ‘The Festival of Lights,’ because they can’t pronounce either of tho-
>ERROR 404<
Sorry, anyway. Tihar is a festival celebrating the god of death, Yama. Why him? He was the first dude to die on Earth, so yeah. There are two versions of the story: His sister Yamuna was sad, so she sent messages to her brother, the God of Death. The other version is Yamuna’s brother was going to be taken by Yama and she was like NOOOOOOO so yeh again. He was too busy to visit his sister, hmm. On the first day, she sent a crow(borb). On the second day she sent a dog. On the third, a cow. The fourth, an ox(why did she send him basically the same thing twice). The fifth day is Bhai Tika, where you worship a brother(in my case, cousin). Soooo idk what happened there. She sent a brother? Eh.
>oh apparently the brother came to her and then they celebrate so eh<
So you worship each messenger and brother, for five days. One each.
We did worship our pupper Simba but he hated his flower garland and tore it apart .____.
And that’s it.

You know Diwali is different. Very Very different, the is a whole different storyline etc…
Then write about the differences and send it in. (This is me, by the way, just on a different account)
Diwali is referred to as Tihar in Nepal, Sikkim and Gorkhaland and is marked by lighting diyo inside and outside the home but unlike Diwali in other parts of India, the five days of Tihar include celebration and worship of the four creatures associated with the Hindu god of death Yama, with the final day reserved for people themselves, But for Indians it signifies the return of Lord Rama, Sita and Lakshmana return to Ayodhya, after their 14 years of exile and victory over Ravana, lamps are lightened throughout the kingdom. Thus, the tradition of lighting oil lamps on Diwali symbolizes the victory of good over evil and freedom from spiritual darkness. Also its commonly a one day festival for indians. In summary you guys celebrate the death god and we celebrate evil being destroyed.
