For a long stretch of time, I did a whole load of blogs, some about Pokémon, some about politics, and even one about Animal Crossing! But NONE of those were book reviews. But when I read the book “Hoot”, that changed EVERYTHING. I decided that everyone should read this book, this book will make you laugh, cry, and even in between! But first, you may need to learn what the book “Hoot” by Carl Hiaasen

Just so you know, THIS BOOK’S MAIN CHARACTERS ARE NOT OWLS! The main characters are HUMANS, and it takes place in Florida, not a owl nest! The main character is Roy Eberhardt, a kid who is new to his school. He is bullied by Dana Matherson. Every single time, Dana always chokes Roy on the bus, and the bus driver doesn’t care about that. One day when Dana choked Roy, Roy saw a boy running out of the bus barefoot with no backpack. Roy then wants to find out who that running boy was, but little does he know that following the boy will be a wild ride for him…

Meanwhile, at Coconut Cove, a new Mother Paula’s Pancake House will be built. Officer Delinko (a police officer) is taking a look at the building site. He meets a man named Curly, whom is the foreman of the company Mother Paula’s Pancake House. He says that on the building site, there are abandoned “Florida Burrowing Owl” nests on the site. He soon sees that someone has spray-painted his car! He sees that there is a boy who is causing trouble for “no apparent reason”. His status as an officer get erased after the “spray-painting” incident. Will “Officer” Delinko regain his title as a police officer? Read the book to find out…

At another place, Leroy “Curly” Branitt, the foreman of the Mother Paula franchise, thought that the building of the new Mother Paula’s Pancake House was going to be a BIG success. But went he discovers that a certain someone has been putting alligators in the Port- a – John’s (aka: Porta Potties), spray-painted some of their property, and put cottonmouth moccasins (a type of snake) everywhere around the building site, he knows that it is harder than he thought. Besides, those “Florida Burrowing Owl” nests are abandoned, so it wouldn’t hurt burying the nests. Or would it?

This book will have action, mystery, and lastly, comedy! So read it, while you have a chance! Hope you enjoy reading “Hoot” by Carl Hiaasen! Oh! And one last thing before I sign off, “Hoot” actually has won the Newberry Medal! That’s all from me! Bye now!
