Have you ever seen an FNF cover(you know, like this:)

Silent Note but Gold, Ben Drowned, Sonic.EXE, and Suicide Mouse.AVI sing it

and thought, “Wow, I wish I could make that?” Well, you’ve come to the right place! I’m gonna teach y’all how to make FNF covers using FL Studio(on the Mac)! Are you ready? Let’s dive in.

First, you’ll need to download FL Studio(because you can’t use this tutorial if you don’t have it, also, I’m not getting paid for this). You don’t need to pay, just go into trial mode. Then, you’ll need to find a MIDI file. Just search up >song name< MIDI download. Keep in mind it doesn’t have to be an FNF song, and also keep in mind that some MIDIs are crappy. But the finished product will turn out amazing(or it won’t, I can’t really do anything)! Then you’ll need to find a soundfont, aka the voice of the character you’re going to use. To find a specific soundfont, search up >character name< soundfont. GameBanana is the best place to find soundfonts. This next part is where things get tricky. Make sure the soundfont ends with .zip. If the soundfont doesn’t end with this, then find a different soundfont. If it does end with .zip, then download it. After you drag the file onto your laptop, double-click the zipped file. A file should appear ending with sf2. If a folder appears, then pick out the sf2 file you want and delete the rest(or keep them for later). Delete the zipped file(you won’t need it). Then go back to FL Studio. Go to File, then go to Import, and then upload your MIDI file. After doing so, go to the channel rack. Press the channel with the vocals(you may need to listen to the MIDI to find the specific channel)using Ctrl+Click. A pop-up should appear. Choose Replace, and select Soundfont Player. Choose your downloaded soundfont. In the chorus category, send the voice to 10 and use the level dial to increase the vocals volume by dragging your mouse up. But don’t put the volume all the way up, or the finished product will sound weird. Test the soundfont on the MIDI. If it doesn’t sound in tune, trash the soundfont and find a different one. If it sounds too high, keep the soundfont but use a different character. Once you’re satisfied with your vocals, you’ll need to find background music, because most MIDIs don’t come with background music. To find background music, search up >the mod the song comes from< OST download FNF. Scroll through the list until you find your songs instrumental. Download it as an MP3 file, then drag it into the studio. Press the play button, and listen to it for any mistakes. Then save it as an MP3 file. Congrats- you’ve made a cover!
