Last time, I wrote about how to make FNF covers, however, I only told you how to use soundfonts. This really puts a damper on things, because most characters either don’t have a soundfont(Hexadust)or most soundfonts of those characters are off-key(the MFM characters). If you don’t want to waste time searching for soundfonts that don’t exist or waste time trying to find the note to start on for perfect pitch, you’ve come to the right place! I’m going to teach you how to use chromatics on FL Studio. If you just want to use soundfonts to make covers(tutorial on that here), that’s OK, you do you, but keep in mind you’ll be missing out on making covers like this:

Paralysis but Hexadust and Ruvstyle sing it

FLP made by Azami Higashikata ^w^:https://drive.google.com/drive/folder…

You probably don’t want to miss out on that, so keep reading this tutorial to make cool stuff!

First, you’ll need to find a chromatic scale. Funkipedia stockpiles these in a storage page, and you can find a lot of good chromatics there. So here’s the link to the page of chromatics! You’re welcome. Convert the chromatic to an MP3(if it isn’t an MP3 file already)using a converter. Then you’ll need to find an FLP/MIDI file. You can scour the web for official ones, or just Google a song title and put FLP/MIDI download(Google the OST download as well, you’re going to need it as you’ll need BG music for MIDIs and you might be missing a few plugins for an FLP). After that, open the FLP/MIDI file in FL Studio. Go to the channel rack and insert a NEW channel, Slicex(important!!! Don’t skip this step or you’ll be sorry). After that, a window should appear. Drag your MP3 chromatic in there and click auto-slice. Check the chromatic and delete any markers in the middle of a voice clip, because if you don’t, it’ll mess up the entire scale. After you’re done with that, go to the Piano Roll and clear everything by pressing Ctrl+Command+A+X. Then go to the desired part you want your character to sing. Copy all the notes by pressing Ctrl+Command+C. Then paste the notes in the Piano Roll of the chromatic you just added. align the notes to the shadows of the notes, but once aligned there, don’t be afraid to move the notes an octave up or down by pressing Ctrl+Command+Up or Down arrow if it sounds wrong or it’s too low/high for the character to hit! You can do this with soundfonts too. You can also make a duet using this, by deleting certain parts of the song so another character can sing. Repeat with another character for Boyfriends/Fevers/GFs/>insert whoever the heck you wants< part. Keep in mind that you can mix soundfonts and chromatics together to make your life a little bit easier. After that stuff, insert the BG music(if you didn’t already)and listen to your hard work. Congrats, you now know how to use chromatic scales!

That’s all folks! Insert any cover requests you have in the comments below :3.
