Hello everyone! Today, I’m going to tell you all about my progress on completing the Pokédex in the game Pokemon Violet. The Pokédex in the game has a total of 400 Pokemon to catch and befriend on your Pokemon journey, with the game making the overall total of Pokemon over one thousand!

… Unfortunately enough, catching 400 Pokemon is no easy task to do and succeed in, so good luck to me!

The first thing I had to was eliminate the starter Pokemon in the game, since you can only get one of them and the only method I have to use to obtain all of them is by trading, so I decided to skip the other two starters for now.

I then decided to go ahead and catch the Pokemon by numerical order in the Pokédex, which I realized soon that it was a very hard task to do.

If you guys are wondering “Nova, you silly! Why didn’t you catch all the Pokemon at the start of the game so that it would be much easier for you?”. Well, because I was too focused on training and switching my first party so that I could over-level my team so that I could have an easier time taking on the main storyline of the game (e.g: Eri’s Fighting Crew). I didn’t have time to run around and look for Slakoth in the trees of South Province, Area One!!!

Speaking of the Slacker Pokemon, it took me a real while to find one!

They are one of those Pokemon that are really hard to find and are rarely seen. Even though I had a Sandwich Bonus, I was bumping into trees for minutes on end, and it took a real while for me to find the sloth thing. Soon, when I was considering to just breed my Vigoroth with another Pokemon, I saw two Pokemon in a tree. I bumped my Miraidon (my ride Pokemon) onto the tree and down come a Mankey and a Slackoth, just what I needed!

Another one that I remember having a lot of trouble looking for was Sunflora. This one gave me a lot of bad memories, since even though I had a good bonus on encountering the Sun Pokemon, and was in the places where it usually is shown in, I couldn’t find it! So I gave in and just evolved a Sunkern instead. But when I went back to those places to catch other Pokemon, the Sunflora were EVERYWHERE. Does the game know when I want to catch a certain Pokemon?

To be continued…
