Hey everyone! Guess what? I’ve finally left my house! Why? Well, to be honest, this was actually because of two things: my sister, Abby, and Certamen. For those of you who don’t know, Certamen is a trivia competition where each team is asked Latin questions in fast-paced rounds for points (like Jeopardy!) and the team with the most points wins (well doy)!
So, my mom and I, being the opportunists we are (but she does most of the work to be honest), decide to go to on this trip. We saw Abby win some of her matches and she, overall, did really good!
But this isn’t about her. This is about my experiences in Connecticut! With my mom, I went to many places, but two stood out from the entire experience. So without further ado, here they are!
Yale Peabody Museum (yes the museum, not the dog)
This place was really interesting! Who knew a whole exhibit full of rocks could be so cool! Luckily I’ve watched clips of Steven Universe and was able to recognize some of the names for the rocks (malachite, amethyst, etc). There also was a small section showing live animals, like walking sticks and poison dart frogs, and we got to see a coelacanth (dead, of course, but it was donated to the museum and they are SUPER rare! search them up sometime!) I also learned that all walking sticks are female, and reproduce in a different way! Cool, ain’t it?
Sally’s Apizza
This pizza place was a really nice one! We decided to go there because (supposedly) their pizza is really good. But unfortunately, that is what many other people thought, so when we finally came to the place, there was a HUGE line in front of this tiny pizza place! WHAT?
The wait was FOUR hours long! For THREE PIZZAS!!! But it was worth it! Their pizza is so good, the place is also super famous! How famous? Well, famous enough for it to have Frank Sinatra be one of the guests during the time, huhhhhh? Not good enough? Well, the other best thing I know of is that it made a cameo appearance in an episode of the Simpsons (apparently, Mr. Burns is a huge fan)! How can you top that?
Now, to end this blog, a meme:
Happy laughing!
