As I type this blog on my laptop, it is February 19th, 2023. Today, the nation is reading headlines that our great 39th president has opted for hospice care given his failing health. Tomorrow February 20th, is the presidents day, the day to celebrate the birthdays of both the first and sixteenth presidents, George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln, along with other presidents before and after their service. Our nation still remains strong as their service for the country hasn’t faded away.

On the occasion of Presidents Day, I want to share with you the life of 39th President Jimmy Carter. It will inform you about the dedication he had put towards our nation and globally.

James Earl Carter jr, better known as Jimmy Carter is an American retired politician who served from the years 1977 to 1981 as a member of the democratic party. In 1946, he received a B.S. degree from the United States naval academy. In July, 1946, he married Rosalynn Smith. A couple years later, his father had passed away in 1953 and he decided to take over Carter’s Warehouse, a supply company and immediately became a big leader within their community in Georgia.
On December 22, 1974, Carter announced his candidacy as president and was elected president November 2 1976. During those years, sought several reforms, taxes, public policy laws and improved our economy significantly. During his presidency, the economy was in recession and his main goal was to create more jobs for the unemployed. Carter had impacted our economy by passing an economic stimulus act. Despite going through health issues in his life, Carter still maintained to keep our nation strong during tough times. He also contributed to global peace and prosperity.

In 2002, the Norwegian Nobel Committee decided to award the Nobel Peace Prize to Carter for his numerous years of trying to find peaceful solutions during weak times in the economy.
Along with that in 2013, President Carter had visited Nepal, the country my family is from to monitor the election and support human rights and democracy. Thats a value all governments in our world should follow. Our Nepali Community can’t thank him any more for that.
In the past couple of years, Carter has survived cancer, several deadly illnesses and injuries but he never gave up and helped make the economy stronger and fulfilled his duty as a good ex-president.
President Carter should be a good
In conclusion, President Carter is a perfect example of a leader to youth and people like me. It is a shame to know that President Carter isn’t feeling the best and is seeking prayers of hope from his family. This short essay is a tribute to him and all the wonderful things he has committed to for the past 98 years of his life.
