Thanks to Chase Kip for the idea in the first place. If it wasn’t for him, this blog would never be made!
WARNING: THIS SECTION MAY AND WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS, AND IS SUPER LONG, SO IF YOU ARE PLAYING THE GAME RIGHT NOW, YOU SHOULD EXIT THIS BLOG, AND PREPARE YOURSELF FOR BOREDOM, I GUESS.
Last time on my blog, I told you about the plot of Kid Icarus for the NES. Pit destroyed all the Underworld forces, equips the Three Sacred Treasures, flies up to Angel Land, defeats Medusa, and the world was saved. We are going to pick off onto that point and finish this series once and for all!
After you complete the whole game of Kid Icarus, you rescue Palutena and you get a specific reward depending on how many requirements you have achieved. If you have completed no requirements, then Palutena will reward you a simple farmers hat, making you a farmer. In contrast if you have completed ALL the requirements, Palutena will turn Pit into a literal MAN and KISSES Pit on the cheek (and that is the BEST ending, gross). And after that is the end of the first game of Kid Icarus.
There was no new Kid Icarus game after that, until the Gameboy released. That is when Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters released. However, nobody KNOWS who made the game, if Toru Osawa had the idea for the game, and why it never released in Japan (and if the game is canon (official)). Yep, a game that has japanese artwork in its instruction manual, NEVER released in Japan! Weird! Anyway, onto the plot of the game…
We now return to Angel Land, where peace and harmony settles. Palutena now single handily runs Angel Land and watches it, with her smile helping Angel Land balance. But then Palutena gets a nightmare foreseeing an attack on Angel Land from demons. Palutena, being very concerned about this, summons Pit, and sends Pit on a quest to defeat the leader of the demons, Orcos. So it is time for Pit to equip the Three Sacred Treasures. But Palutena gave the Three Sacred Treasures to Orcos’s three strongest generals, because Pit isn’t that strong yet (but he defeated Medusa without any training so why lol and Pit is 12 years old, in case you’re wondering). So long story short, Pit defeats the generals of Orcos, equips the Three Sacred Treasures, flies up to Angel Land, Palutena gets turned to stone by Orcos (hey that’s new), Pit defeats Orcos, and the world is saved. Pit rescues Palutena, whom bids farewell to Pit, thanking him for bringing back peace to Angel Land.
THEN PIT’S WINGS GET BURNT OFF BECAUSE HE FLEW TOO NEAR TO THE SUN. WHAT A GREAT ENDING. And I’m not joking, that’s literally is what happens.
Then we enter the Dead Zone, where Pit and Palutena were spending their lives in the “Forgotten Video Game Characters Tavern” (that is a metaphor, kids). Yes, Pit was in a few crossovers, was in the Captain N TV show, and even was added into Super Smash Bros. Palutena on the other hand was just added as a trophy in Smash and was the only non-playable ally character in the whole dang storyline of Super Smash Bros Brawl. But with no revival of another game coming, fans thought that Pit actually DIED with his wings burnt off (no one actually played that game but that is what they WOULD think at least).
That is until the year 2012! Will Pit and Palutena get a revival in the Kid Icarus series? And who is that tsundere I mentioned on Part 1? Find out on next week’s blog!
