Last time on Kid Icarus Actually Explained (100%), Angel Land got taken over by Medusa, the goddess of darkness, Palutena, the goddess of light, sent a bow down to her best soldier, Pit, a flightless angel. Pit defeated Medusa, and saved Palutena and Skyworld (aka: Angel Land). Then Pit had to defeat the demon king Orcos, which, to make a long story short, he does. Now it is the year 2012, there won’t be another Kid Icarus game soon, or will there?
One day in the year 2012, when the creator of the Kirby series, Nintendogs + Cats, Meteos, and the famous Super Smash Brothers series, Masahiro Sakurai, was making new plans for a game on the 3DS. He wanted to bring a old video game series back to life. At first Sakurai thought that he should make a new Star Fox game. But for some circumstances I have no idea about, the whole thing got scrapped anyway. But when he heard that people wanted another game of a flightless angel with a goddess by his side. Hearing about the main protagonists, he knew he found the right game to revive. And that, my friends, was how Kid Icarus: Uprising was created. Also, if you were wondering, the series was actually not called Kid Icarus in the first place, the name that it originally had was translated to New Light Mythology: Palutena’s Mirror, which did not make any sense at all! But back to the plot, anyways…
21 years after the event of the first game of Kid Icarus, Medusa is revived and back from the dead, trying to get revenge on Palutena and Skyworld. So it’s up to Pit to stop her, just like old times. But this time, Palutena is here to help, instead of getting captured or staying in the palace trying to make dinner for Pit (Hint, hint. reference to the anime short, Palutena’s Revolting Dinner…). She now can give Pit somthing called the Power of Flight, which enables him to fly, and do aerial battles. Here’s the catch, it only lasts for five minutes. So anyway, Pit has to defeat all of the Underworld generals to clean things up. And to make a long story short again, Pit defeats all the generals. But while he is fighting Pandora, you see, Pandora used a item to create more Underworld forces. That item was called the Mirror of Truth. Pit then destroys the Mirror of Truth, but also creating a clone of himself in the process called Dark Pit, BUT then since the name was too grim, Palutena then shortned the name, making his forever nickname Pittoo, as in Pit Two, as in Dark Pit. So since the Mirror of Truth cracked right before Dark Pi- , I mean Pittoo was created, he became a neutral character, not joining either Palutena’s side nor Medusa’s side.
