KIE: S&R (Part 8: The Return of Light and Darkness)
First Part of Original KIAE (which you shouldn’t read because of cringe)
So, Pit sets off to fight all of Medusa’s commanders and forces, so that he can lead up to Medusa herself (to cut the legs off the lion before killing the lion itself? [yeah, that was an interesting analogy]). So, he defeats the usual Fortress Bosses from before; Twinbellows, Hewdraw, Pandora, Gaol-
WAIT GAOL? That’s new! Who on earth is this Gaol person?
Well, in Chapter 2, Pit meet this dude named Magnus (who is a human, thanks for asking) and teams up with him to defeat the boss of the chapter, Dark Lord Gaol.
After you defeat Gaol, however (with the help of Magnus), you find out that Gaol isn’t the Dark Lord portrayed first, Gaol isn’t a demon of the Underworld Army.
Gaol is….A HUMAN GIRL??!!
Well, we’ve seen this in other twists (cough cough, Metroid), but we didn’t see that coming. Don’t worry, Gaol was just possessed by the Underworld Army! She’s still alive after Pit kinda beat her up!
But the most iconic part of the first few chapters of the game is Pandora’s boss fight (remember? the demon goddess of calamity?). She has something called the Mirror of Truth, which makes dark clones of any organism that stands in front of it. Pit jump-kick-smashes the mirror and… you can see where this is going.
Through that, the angel Dark Pit was created. Also known as my sister’s favorite character in the game.
BUT PALUTENA DECIDES HIS NAME IS TOO EDGY SO SHE AND PIT START CALLING HIM PITTOO-
So, after dealing with the shapeshifting god of death, Thanatos, stealing back the Three Sacred Treasures from a bunch of space pirates (Palutena hid the treasures in space and the pirates kinda found them [no the leader of the space pirates wasn’t Ridley from Metroid-]), and facing against clones of the original three Fortress Bosses (what is it with the gods and cloning?), Pit faces against Medusa and the world is saved!
Pit: (tired) Well that was a lot…
Palutena: Yeah… (smiles) Great job though!
(someone kicks down the front door of Palutena’s temple)
Hades(???): WASSUP DO-GOODERS!!!
Pit & Palutena: (a mix of disgusted and shocked) AW HELL NAW-
