Welp, tutorial time.
I love MMD. Watching MMD videos always makes me smile, especially Talkloid ones.
Since I started making them, I’ve become quite passionate about the software and videos. I want someone to make some models of the Neogang(I suck at modeling) because then I can combine my two interests. If anyone makes them please tell me ^^
Anyway, MMD can look VERY drab. As much as I love it, that’s the truth. So I’m here to tell you how to make your MMD videos look cool!
–MMD EFFECTS
When you install MMD, make sure you have MMEffect installed. You’ll know if it’s installed when you check the upper right corner of MMD and see a small tab saying MMEffect above the video preview area. This will make your videos magical.
–SHADERS
Well, if you go to the MME effect tab, you will see the names of your models. Click the model name. You’ve done this right if the box turns blue.
Next, you’ll want to have downloaded a shader. Search up “MMD shaders” and you’ll find a couple. I recommend:
FOR GENERAL VIDEOS: Greener Shader
FOR BEAUTIFUL VIDEOS: Adults Shader
FOR HORROR VIDEOS: Horror Shader
Click “Set Effect.” Then go to the shader folder and select shaders-experiment and find the one you like best! Shaders have many variations. Horror Shader, for instance, gets darker(1 being the lightest, 5 being the darkest, aka most shadowed). Different shader variations(Sun, Moon, Cloudy, Dark)can help your video get the perfect feel. Don’t worry if you don’t like it, just click cancel and the effect will not be applied.
–DIFFUSION
Load the Diffusion effect-don’t go to the MME tab this time-that will cause your game to crash. Instead, go to the camera tab. Go to “accessory manipulation” and click the load button. I recommend loading Diffusion3. This will give your video a beautiful, dreamlike effect.
–KIRAKIRA!!!
KiraKira is an effect which adds sparkles to your video-the controller for this effect can slow down the sparkles and modify this effect!
These are only a few tips to make your MMD videos better! Try them and tell me if they helped!
