Hello everyone! Today I’m gonna be talking about my spring break: in FLORIDA! My sister Abby is here with me too and we are both having a great time! Isn’t that right, Abby?

Abby: shut

…Okay! So one of the first things my family did here in the Sunshine State is we went to the zoo! Called Zoo Miami, it is Florida’s biggest zoo, and contains critically endangered species! I suggested to my family to go visit the zoo and they (reluctantly) said yes!

Overall, we had a lot of fun and saw animals we haven’t seen before! Here are some examples…

1. The Addax

Also known as the white antelope, the addax is one of the rarest animals in the world, with about 90 individuals in the wild and 600 in captivity. Lucky for my family, there were some addaxes in the zoo, and the exhibit spoke about the conservation of the antelope. We were just about to leave the exhibit when we spotted…

…an addax calf. Sitting in the enclosure.

We started taking pictures of the sweet precious boi. Nice to see the addax population growing again!

2. The Koala

Just to clarify, the koala was seen by only my dad and I. Abby and my mom got tired of walking and rested for the rest of the visit, so they didn’t get to see some of the animals.

Being one of the last animals we saw, the koala was in a separate building in the zoo that held animals that were sensitive to noise. Not only was there a koala in the building but also a Matschie’s tree kangaroo climbing around her exhibit.

Watching the koala was… relaxing. She didn’t move around much (even though she was awake) and only turned her head a few times.

AND THAT WAS THE SWEETEST LITTLE ANIMAL WE SAW IN THE ENTIRE ZOO!! CHANGE MY MIND, I DARE YOU!!

(hey that rhymes😀)

There were many more animals that I saw at the zoo, but this would be a long blog if I had to list them all. Overall, Zoo Miami is a 5 out of 5, and I definitely want to go there again!

…mostly because I didn’t see the Everglades exhibit (I didn’t see the kitty <florida panther>😢)

See y’all next time!
