Thu. Dec 19th, 2024

History was made on November 7th 2020. It has been 4 days since the election as all my stress and anxiety leveled up inside of me. I knew that who won this would lead us through this pandemic, fires and much more, but he who won would also represent who we are, and mostly represent this country known as America. It was between Biden and Trump. Kicking my blanket from the sound of my alarm clock at 9:00 on a Saturday was not the first thing I wanted to hear. As I dragged myself up from my bed, right away I thought

“Did Biden and Kamala win yet?”,

After eating breakfast I went to my room to pick out my clothes with that question still in my mind. I zoomed to the bathroom to get ready. Normally I would’ve stayed in my Pajamas a bit longer but today was flu shot day. After getting ready I headed down to my moms car where my mom was waiting in the passenger seat in the front. I opened up the back right door of the car with my book still in hand. I sat down and started to continue my book Keepers of the Lost City. I opened to chapter 15 and continued reading.

“EUREKA LOOK!”, my mom exclaimed

“What”, I replied back looking up from my book.

“BIDEN AND KAMALA WON!”, my mom said with a cheerful voice.

“WHAT?!”, I screamed as I threw my book beside me and quickly took my moms phone away from her hand. I quickly started to read the paragraph with a HUGE smile on my face.

“BIDEN AND KAMALA WON!”, I screamed from the bottom of my lungs as I placed my mom’s phone on the car seat while opening the door and screaming that into my house. It wasn’t Biden that I was so happy for it was Kamala.

Kamala Harris was born on October 20th of 1964 in Oakland Medical Center in Oakland California, she is 54 years old right now. Kamala has now made history on November-7-2020 for being elected the first black, first colored and first girl vice president of the U.S.A. Kamala Harris’s father is Donald Harris, with her mother Shyamala Gopalan Harris looking down at her from heaven. I bet she would’ve been so proud of her, Kamala Harris has inspired many girls out there by becoming first girl vice president of this country. Vice President Harris is married to Douglas Emhoff is an American lawyer and is now set to be the first Second Gentle Man of the United States. As a student Kamala went to West Mount High School in in 1981, she also went to Howard University in 1986 and UC Hastings of Law in 1989.

After being elected as the 46th vice president news say that in a tweet in twitter she said “This election is about so much more than Joe Biden or me. It’s about the soul of America and our willingness to fight for it. We have a lot of work ahead of us. Let’s get started”.

With that being said Kamala has inspired and will continue to inspire young children especially girls like me. She has inspired me that If I work hard for something than I can achieve it. I am excited for the years to come with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris is the office. I know that they will bring a change to america, a good one that will help America be how it was before because in the U.S we are like one big family. History has been made today and everyone is excited for the next couple of years. Again no matter what we are like a big family.
