President Donald Trump is now not President anymore, he has also been impeached two times. This episode we are going to learn who were the impeached presidents and why they were impeached.
But first, what is impeachment? Well, impeachment is the announcement that the president did something wrong, and getting removed from office. The House of Represenitives are the ones that write down the impeachment and why the president was impeached.
The very first president to be impeached was Andrew Johnson. This unlucky guy was impeached just by firing his secretary in war Edwin Stanton. But he was not removed from office. Yes sir-ee guys, he was not removed because the House of Representatives were scared the 2/3s of the people that wanted to convict and remove Johnson from office.
The second president to be impeached was Bill Clinton. He was impeached for lying under the oath a president should take when they first become president. But then the Senate then voted and did all that other stuff and proved he was not guilty.
The third president to be impeached was You-Know-Who. Er.. I mean Donald Trump. He was impeached for abusive power and violence. “Article One is Adopted” Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi declared. But, the Senate said he was not guilty. Good JOB, Senate.
Some of you may are asking “Didn’t Richard Nixon get impeached?” Well, no. The reason he was not impeached was that he resigned before he would get impeached, making him the first president to resign. He later said that “The impeachment of a president is a last resort.”
