On the 11th of June, my family and I went to Norway, Michigan for our road trip. Finally, being able to ride in our family van! I was so excited to go on the road trip, and we did many things during this time including rafting, hiking, camping, and more. The four-hour ride to Norway, Michigan was devastating after only surviving off of chips, fruits, nuts, cookies, etc, but after getting there it was worth it! We did not do much on our first day since we were all exhausted after the devastating drive. However, on the second day, we did not miss a second.

On the second day, we woke up after a deep slumber at America’s Best Hotel Inn and Suites – Michigan. We started our journey by having breakfast at a restaurant, the adults getting a sandwich while us kids got a chocolate brownie and some milk. Right away, after breakfast we set off to Long Falls Hiking Trails. The hiking trails were full of rocks, pine cones, moss and more. The most fun part about this was when we climbed the rocks to get from one side to another. We also used the rocks to climb downhill moving near the whooshing waterfall. The most funniest thing that happened was when we were trying to get closer to the waterfall and Aagaman, Abby and I accidentally stepped into the wet cold water with our socks and shoes getting them both wet at the same time felt like another ten pounds had been dropped up onto me.

“SWOOSH!” went the water. We were on the boat riding along the big rapids of the Nigeria river. Everyone started to calm down as we saw Jeneeya auntie at the shore waiting for us. We paddled towards the shore getting off the boat dropping off Abby, Aagaman, Nougah, and Sunaina auntie before hopping onto the boat again. We had visited Tarka’s Whitewater Journey in Michigan so we could go rafting. We neared the big rapids as Tarka uncle paddled to keep the boat in line. The water splashed into the boat as we all screamed again as the boat finally calmed down and we paddled to shore again getting our second boat to go once again. Then it happened we entered the gushing water again as we went side to side getting controlled by the strong current. It all happened so fast that by the time we were done screaming and the water splashed us all we were done. From my perspective, the second time we went through the big rapid was a lot more fun since Tarka uncle didn’t control the boat as much.

Finally, we reached back to the campsite where Rajan uncle and I started hitting the cork back and forth using our badminton bats. Time went so fast that soon we were around the campfire, roasting marshmallows before we headed to our tents made by Tarka uncle, Ram uncle, Rajan uncle, and my dad. Another long day had passed as I fell deep into my slumber.
