As some of you may know, I’ve been doing a fundraiser for my Girl Scout Silver Award to raise money for period product dispensers and refill pads for said dispensers. Good news, we got the period product dispensers and the refill pads with the money we got from the people who donated! Thank you to everyone that has donated.
I have donated the materials to the YMCA, and the property director (whom I wanted to meet with), Emily Jones, was very excited to see that I had kept my word about delivering the period products to the YMCA.
She told us that one time, there was a dad with his teenage daughter l who asked her for menstrual pads, but she didn’t have any with her. So she put period products in some of the girls’ bathrooms. She added that she would take down the old one’s and replace them with the ones we donated. Since the Silver Award Project had to be long lasting, Ms Jones told us that she would email me if the YMCA was running low on supplies (which would be a long time, due to the quantity of refill pads being 150).
What I have to do now is write a report about the Silver Award Journey and my experience, then I can earn my Silver Award.
To be adding on, the fund to donate money to is still open for people to donate more money, since I want to raise more money to buy period products for my period product drive. So donate away! I still need $25 to accomplish my goal!
Thank you for your generous donations and support!
