I’m going back to this route lets goooo

Now, October 19th is Sweetest Day! Give little sweet gifts or be kind to people, especially people who need a little lift in life!

(YES BEING KIND IS IMPORTANT)

(IT STILL IS)

…October 19th is also Evaluate Your Life Day.

So, if you forget to be kind, you can stay awake and rethink all of your life choices! Wee hee!

(…or you can do both.)

Why do I bring this up? To lead into a bunch of “useless” facts!

Why? I don’t know! But here we are!

Let’s a-go!

  • Wearing flippers can sometimes tear open your skin if the flippers don’t fit well- or cause minor abrasions. Don’t worry, you’ll be fine! (It kind of hurts, though…)
  • Most of us know D.M. as “direct message.” But in Rome, it was a tombstone abbreviation meaning, “dis menibus,” or, “to the spirits of the dead!” So, if you’re mad at someone, you can shout, “I’M GOING TO D.M. YOU!” And they’ll be confused. It’s funny.
  • In Latin, there are no articles. So there are no words for “a,” “an,” or “the.” So you have to infer.
  • If you want to make something cute and tiny in Spanish, chop off the “o” or “a” at the end (or the last letter), and replace it it with “-ito” or “-ita!” (example: turn “el pavo,” meaning turkey, into “el pavito,” or turn, “la fresa” into “la fresita-” not. you basically have, “the cute little turkey” and “the cute little strawberry.”) For some words, this will not work. Like for “el chico-” it’s not, “chicito,” it’s “chiquito-” which, in a way is the same thing, but the spelling is changed to make more sense…
  • We’ve all heard the phrase, “history repeats itself.” Of course, it can’t do so exactly, but if you study history, or otherwise know it really well, you realize that all the bad happenings have the same basic format and lead-up: someone claims to be able to make everything better, everyone believes them, everything becomes a bit corrupt, and it all goes downhill from there.
  • Also, related to the above- people who there is no need to study history are usually not smart. Like, at all. So yeah.
  • When multiplying two binomials that are opposites, like (3x – 3) and (3x + 3), the inside term will cancel out, so you only need to multiply the firsts and lasts (that is, 3x by 3x and -3 by 3). That gets you (9x^2 – 9). This works with any opposite binomials.
  • In Fire Emblem: Engage, there are many different stats that are VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND AND KEEP TRACK OF (I still love you, Fire Emblem: Engage), but Crit. gives you a heightened ability to land Critical Hits, while Lck. (or Luck) gives you the ability to dodge said critical hits. Characters with low Luck (i.e. Ivy) tend to take critical hits more easily, causing them to die more quickly. You have a small chance of obtaining a Goddess Statue as a stat boosting item- and it can be used to increase your Luck by 2. Try to use these on Ivy to help her out.
  • If you’re dehydrated, you can get a Charley Horse- which is basically, in my experience, when you try to go full stride and your calf very painfully tightens, forcing you to jog. How do you fix this? Stretch your calf out and drink some water. Also, you’ll get lightheaded when dehydrated. And eventually hallucinate. So drink water. Go drink a cup of water. Right now.
  • Fruits that represent love include apples, grapes, strawberries, pomegranates, figs, and mangoes. Feel free to use these as important symbols or motifs in your writing!
  • In the old days, railroad companies were paid per mile of railroad track, and they got all the land the railroad tracks were on. So instead of taking the fastest, most direct way, they crafted the railroad track to be as long as possible. This made things…very inconvenient. It also wasted resources. This lead to a strike

Those were your facts! I hope you learned something!

Make sure to spread this useless information! Alright, bye!
