As I know, we go on a road trip every year on June 11th. In our first year, we went to New York, Washington DC, and Niagara Falls. In our second year, we went to Colorado, Minnesota, Mt Rushmore, and a zero-gravity spot in the rapid city of Las Vegas. Then in our third year, we went to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, and drove to Texas and Oklahoma. During our fourth year, we went to Marquette, Mackinac Island, Budapest Park, Battlefield Park, Canada, and Acadia National Park via Canada.

Soon after Covid hit, we couldn’t go on our annual trips for a year, but we got to go in 2021, sadly it was only for three days. However, we didn’t miss a single second of those three days. We went hiking at Niagara located in Iron Mountain in the northern part of Michigan. There were many beautiful waterfalls. We also went rafting at Niagara river with Tarka Uncle. While we were rafting, we got to go on the rapids (waves created by rocks) there were two rapids a big one and a small one. People under 12 years old could only go on the small one and the people that were 12 years and over had a choice of going on the big one but everyone had a choice if they wanted to go or not, obviously.

Most people wanted to go rafting. Before we got to the rapids, we could swim in the river. The rafting part was very fun, but when we got back we played badminton and help the adults set up tents. Sadly those three days soon came to an end, on the last day we all wanted to go rafting again but there was not much time left so we went hiking. Then after, we climbed back onto our van saying goodbye to Michigan. The drive back home was a three-hour drive, we had pizza along the way, and all the kids took a nap for one to two hours with Abby laying on Eureka. Finally, after a long trip filled with fun, we made it home, we missed it but we will miss Michigan even more.
