Hello everyone! I have recently bought the new DLC for my Pokemon Violet game, so now I can catch more Pokemon there. Might need to change the Nintendo Link to a different Gmail though.

But I’m not talking about that today, I want to present a book that I have stumbled across a long time ago, and I loved it so much. I would like to recommend this book to people that are old fans of the Wings of Fire series and the Legend trilogy.

The book is in first person, but it switches between perspectives in each chapter, so a different character narrates each chapter, which means that there some times where the reader knows more than the characters do, but there still are shocks and twists in this book!

And it’s called Talon by the one and only Julie Kagawa!

——————————————————————————————

The story starts in a city in California, where 16 year old Ember lives with her twin brother Dante. They are normal teenagers who go to school, and have teenage problems and friends.

Except for the fact that they are red dragons in disguise.

You see, the twins work for the secret dragon organization Talon, and each dragon has to be assigned a job, which isn’t revealed until their training in said job is completed. The twins were send to California to sneak into human society and spy on it.

Unlike her twin brother, Ember loves embracing her human form, and makes friends and hobbies, like surfing. Her training is very tough, but she wants to be a Chameleon like Dante, a dragon that spies on humans.

———

Meanwhile, another boy named Garrett is introduced in the story…killing a dragon. You see, he works for another secret organization called St. George, which is entirely made out of dragonslayers.

He is a respected soldier, as his parents were killed by dragons when he was very young. He is also sent to California, in the same city Ember and Dante are in to find the dragon hiding in the city and kill it.

———

Then Ember and Garrett meet for the first time and immediately become friends. Without knowing they are each others enemy.

What will happen when the two find out their true selves? What will escalate when they fall in love? And who is the mysterious dragon that’s been visiting Ember lately? Find out by leading this fantasy-science fiction of a book!

————————————————————————————————

I must warn you, though. This book has a lot of swear words in it, so I mainly recommend it for teens and adults. This is also a quintet, so remember to read the other books in the series, which are Rogue, Soldier, Legion and Inferno!

Happy reading!
