Hey everyone! Today (or as this blog is published, tomorrow), I felt a little bored, and my parents had a Disney+ membership for a while. So what did I do?
I went to Amazon Prime and looked for a show to watch.
…What? There was nothing interesting on Disney+ except for the 2017 DuckTales reboot (which is okay I guess)
So, remembering that the original Teen Titans was on Amazon Prime, you know what I had to do.
As some background information, the only things of Teen Titans I have ever watched was only a few seasons of Teen Titans Go! (which I loved, I really was a sick kid back then) and a part of an episode of the original Teen Titans. But since I was only eight at the time of watching it, I didn’t really know what was going on. And while watching Teen Titans Go!.. I did not like it besides a few episodes here and there.
So I decided to watch the first five episodes of the series. And…
It really is as great as the people say it is!!!
The episodes are action-packed, sometimes funny and can even be really dark in the same episode! The series does a great job at making you feel for many of the characters!
For people who somehow don’t know what the show Teen Titans is, it’s basically about a group of five teenage superheroes defeating evil. The team includes:
- Robin (the only member with no superpowers) is the leader and strategist
- Starfire, an alien who can shoot lasers and fly faster than sound.
- Raven, a girl who is half demon and has countless spiritual powers
- Beast Boy, a boy (duh) who can shape-shift into countless animals (even extinct ones!) and even some aliens and demons!
- Cyborg, a bionic teenager with robot parts installed in him
Together, they are the Teen Titans!!!
hey lookit its the title
Besides the good writing and lovable characters, the show’s theme song is universally classified as a banger.
From what I’ve heard, the end of the fourth season was originally was going to be the end of the series. But then Cartoon Network decided to… well, let me transcript this out.
Robin: Are…you sure you want to give us another season? We just literally had a three-part episode called “The End”!
Cartoon Network (CN): Oh! We’ll give you a fifth season ’cause why not! You’re doing us some great money!
Robin: …o…kay…
A FEW DAYS LATER
Robin: >happy< Whew… well that was a cliffhanger ending we had there! So, CN… a sixth season or-
Cartoon Network: Nope. Show’s over.
Beast Boy: …WHAT THE FFFFFFFFFF- >sees Starfire gazing innocently at him, Cyborg covering her ears, glaring at him< -FFFFUDGE. Yeah, fudge.
Starfire: >lightens up< So we are going to a candy shop?
Robin: >glances to Raven< …should we tell her-
Raven: no
So after a few years, the show was given a spin-off called Teen Titans Go! Not only is this spin-off now one of the longest running shows on Cartoon Network, it is also one of the most HATED.
And I definitely agree.
- there is no accuracy in the show, in th characters OR the art style and battles
- basically the show is now a huge pile of brain rot and misinformation
Heck, the only reason why this show is still going is just because kids continue to watch it! So, if you want the show to end…
Just stop watching it. Keep watching the original show, which really was one moment of its time.
Happy watching!
