Hey everyone! Today I am writing about Trubble Town, a book by Stephan Pastis, the dude who writes Pearls Before Swine and Timmy Failure. Trubble Town is an amazing book. The story takes place in a girl named Wendy the Wanderer’s room, where she is giving an informercial about overprotective parents. Her overprotective father(who is WAY too worried about rain)walks in, and tells Wendy that he’s going on a business trip. Wendy wants the babysitter to be a free-spirited dynamo of adventure. But leaves Wendy with a babysitter named Watchful Willamina, who says she will watch your child at all times, on a strict schedule. Which there wouldn’t be a book, or this review, if it weren’t for this fact: Willamina tells Wendy that she’ll be on her phone every single minute, so if Wendy stays out of her way, she’ll stay out of hers. Wendy realizes she can now go anywhere she wants, and leaves the purple mushroom shaped house she lives in. Then she gets a Mooshy(which is just hot cocoa with forty marshmallows), and meets a squirrel named Squirrely McSquirrel, who she gives the last of her Mooshy to, and then the town of Trubble imploded. Wendy meets many more characters, from the ‘hero’ Nutman, to the dynamite-making Nitroglycerine Nanny. But then, in the middle of all the chaos, her father calls…
What will happen next? Will Wendy be able to fix Trubble before her dad gets home? Find out in Trubble Town: Squirrel Do Bad!
