Hey everyone! The day I’m writing this, it’s the time of my school’s Homecoming party!
For those who don’t know what Homecoming is, it’s a tradition that people in high school do to celebrate school spirit, with the end of the week having a school dance that crowns a Homecoming King and Queen (how do they decide who takes those titles? I have no clue)!
But for my school, this usually starts with a pep rally.
This, I’ve heard is common in many schools, but in mine, the games are also based on school spirit. So, of course, we all had to meet up at the school’s football field, and I had a bit of a flashback at the time…
You see, during our school’s pep rally when I was a freshman, there was a cheering competition between all the grades. When the freshmen was chosen to cheer, I did so, only to be responded by a bunch of boos from the seniors. This, obviously, made me cry, since I didn’t know who they were booing at.
The booing, I later realized that day, is the result of freshmen who don’t want to do anything. The freshmen’s cheering went something like this:
Pep Rally MC: Hey freshmen!
*silence*
Pep Rally MC: HEY FRESHMEN!!!
*more silence*
So yeah! Luckily, the sophomores (the freshmen from the year I was traumatized) did some good cheering, way better than the freshmen’s.
Besides that, there were some sports teams playing tug-o-war (the guys won) and some races (the guys won. again). The best had to be the bubble wrestling, where students (later teachers) were put in bubbles and tried to ram each other out of a marked space. Funny and entertaining!
Seeya later!
