Yesterday (October 29th), was the last day to go to Wisconsin Fear Grounds, a haunted house. My two friends, Gargi and Aaryaa and I came up with the plan to go for a few hours. We bought tickets all together and collected our money for concessions and gifts. This was extra important because I have never been to a haunted house before, I didn’t care if it was scary or not, and I didnt realize it would be that scary until I went there. My dad took me to Gargis house to stay for a while. We then waited for Aaryaa to come over to her house. After Aaryaa came, we sat in my dad’s van and we drove to Wisconsin Fear Grounds. My dad gave us instructions. We walked to the area and the ladies at the front gave us tokens to get inside the haunted house. First, we walked through a fun maze to get in line for the haunted house. “There are three houses,” Gargi said to us.
¨We have to go to each one. The first one is dark and has a lot of clowns¨ Gargi says excitedly. There was a pang of regret in texting Gargi saying ¨We should totally go to Wisconsin Fear Grounds¨. I was terrified for my life.
If you wanted to quit, you had to put your hands on your heads and say ¨I quit¨. I could have done that, but I wanted to challenge myself…it was pure torture.
Finally, we walked out of the haunted house and it led to us going outside in the cold.
Lets hope this one isn’t the abyss, The abyss isn’t good” Gargi informed us.
When we got to the line, the lady insisted that it wasn’t the abyss but it was with a bunch of clowns. To be honest, It was less scary. But most of the time, I was delusional and probably don’t remember much because it was dark. My least favorite part were the live action people like clowns and murderers. It gave me Jeff Dahmer vibes. It also creeped me out that Dahmer was from the same place I live in today. When it was all over, our stomachs were rumbling and we knew what the cash in our pockets were for. We stopped at concessions and we all got sodas and snacks. While sitting down and eating, I had come to realize that this is the only time we will get to chill out without any parents. It was fun overall, and I recommend you all do go next year. I am sure I will and one day, it will be a tradition.
