After scrolling through several book reviews on Tiktok, I was determined to buy the book, Layla, by Colleen Hoover. Last month, I read Verity, a psychological thriller by Colleen Hoover and really liked it. So I thought that I would give this book a chance. Trust me, it did not disappoint me one bit. Before you read this review, I would like to give this book a maturity rating. Please read this at your own risk.
Leeds Gabriel, a bass player of a band has always felt alone in his life. But, he didn’t mind it so much, until he met Layla who taught him what true love and care was. When Layla gets into a life threatening accident, she survives physically, but her mental state wasn’t the same as the one that Leeds loved. Her behavior has changed and needs close supervision and medical attention.In order to resolve the missing puzzle of their changed relationship, Leeds rents the Bed and Breakfast house for a vacation to try and reconnect with one another as it was the place they had first met. As soon as they step foot in the B&B, Leeds immediately realizes that something is wrong with the place. The scary scenery and the strange connections that Leeds sees makes this book so interesting. What will happen next? Will Leeds and Layla be able to fix up their relationship?
