In my Honors English class, we are reading the book Frankenstein by author Mary Shelley. You may have heard about Frankenstein, but do you know the story behind Frankenstein? Although you may think of Frankenstein as something scary and creepy, I can assure you that there will be a rollercoaster of emotions. You will cry not because you are scared, but because you feel sad for the characters. This wonderfully written story has impressed me. As it is now spooky season, I can guarantee that this book is just perfect for this time of the year .

The story starts off with Victor Frankenstein, an ambitious and naive Swiss student who goes to study natural sciences at the University of Ingolstadt . One day, he decides to go further with his ambitions for creating life . Frankenstein thinks of doing the impossible and to “play the role of god” by creating a monster. But his dreams turn into nightmares, and sadly turns into a haunting reality. When the monster breaks loose from his research lab, Victor loses control of his own creation. He soon realizes the consequences of his arrogance and unchecked ambition. The monster starts taking human lives. As the story unfolds ,Victor tries to hunt down the monster, and look for the answers about the monster and its existence. Victor’s creation of the monster is followed by a series of unfortunate events, and he realizes that his ambition and actions would come back to haunt him and others.

What will happen next? What is the truth behind the monster? Does the monster have his own challenges? What will Frankenstein do now? Will Frankenstein fix his mistake of playing God?If you’re into thriller books like these, this book is just for you. I hope you like the book as much as I liked it!
Happy Halloween!
