Oh! Hey! Before we start, I want to share out something important.

In this blog, I’ll be talking about a game called Baldur’s Gate 3. Even though I’m recounting my experience with the game so far, I have to say that BALDUR’S GATE 3 ISN’T FOR KIDS. There is a lot of suggestive content, swear words, and blood in the game.

So parents, if your kid shows you this blog to convince you to buy the game, DON’T buy the game for them until they are 17 or older!

Good? Good. Now, back to the scheduled blog.

Hey hey everyone! It’s been a while since I last wrote! I’m back in Wisconsin again, ending our trip to Washington on a high note! Yay!

Afterwards, my dad finally drove over with me to Best Buy to buy my (belated) birthday gift: a gaming computer and monitor! After I got help from my parents to set up both, I made a Steam account and finally bought the game that I have been hyper-fixating on for MONTHS: Baldur’s Gate 3!

How is the game so far? Well, I’ll tell you by asking a single rhetorical question…

Why are all pieces of media made by indie studios so addictive to watch, listen or play? BECAUSE THIS GAME IS LIKE SLIME RANCHER ALL OVER AGAIN AND I LOVE IT.

(except for the main part being that Baldur’s Gate 3 is the only game that has made me stay up past midnight so sadly the graphic for this blog isn’t satire)

A bit of background knowledge if you are interested: Baldur’s Gate 3 is a RPG (role-playing game) released by small Belgian game developer company Larian Studios in 2023 on the Playstation 5, Xbox, Windows, and Steam. Based on the fifth edition of the tabletop game Dungeons and Dragons, it is also the third installment of the Baldur’s Gate series (the first two games of the series were made by a separate company called Bioware). The game is about a group of unlikely travelers trying to remove a parasite from their brains, else they will turn into evil, squid-like psychic monsters called mind flayers.

The game has since sold over 20 million copies since its release. It has also won many, and I mean MANY awards. Here’s the Wikipedia link for them if you want to see them all.

And after playing the game, I think it DESERVES this fame.

The story is so investing. I can barely leave the game alone without finding something interesting to do! The gameplay is so satisfying and anything that is possible to do in the game IS POSSIBLE!!! Larian really took the choice part of RPG games REALLY seriously!

The best part of the game probably are the characters, though. The companions are so funny and so lively! The voice acting on this game manage to make the characters come to life, as if the player is actually becoming friends with them! My favorites so far are Karlach, Shadowheart, and Astarion, but I love ALL the companions so much!

I’m 70% done with Act 1, and I can’t wait to look at more of the game! Seeya guys soon (hopefully)!
